Age Group Seattle Open INFO E-mail
Thursday, 02 July 2009 11:32

Once again our timeline is very crowded at the Age Group Seattle Open.  We are going to make two changes to make room for additional swimmers.  First, we are going to cancel the relays (again) on Friday and Sunday.  Second, we are going to limit the number of heats in the 12&u 400 free on Sunday afternoon to 7 heats of girls and 7 heats of boys.  We currently have entries for 9 heats of girls.  So we will scratch the slowest entries and put these swimmers on a “waiting list” for the 400 free.  If the meet timeline goes well, these swimmers on the “waiting list” will be first in line to be added to the event (before deck entries).  If a waiting list swimmer does swim they will pay the normal entry fee (not a deck entry fee).  Based on our experience at past meets, we expect to be able to include all of these waiting list swimmers at the meet.  I will inform individual teams with swimmers who have been wait listed.  If you have any other questions, please let me know.

Thanks for your understanding,

Lori Morrison

Join our RACE CLUB (High School Training Group)!

IST Head Coach Kyle Johnson coaches a training group for HS-aged athletes to help develop fitness and racing skills while providing flexibility of a seasonal (8 week session) approach. This group focuses on the special needs of high school/summer league swimming as well as provides opportunities for athletes of other disciplines to pursue swimming without the annual commitment. Participants experience diverse athletic training with specially designed land exercises, stroke technique, racing strategy and fitness. This program is an afternoon-only/saturday morning program. Registrations are accepted throughout the year! Contact the IST office if you have questions or would like to register (425)392-3996.

 Steelhead Program

IST's Steelhead program is a pre-competetive group who's goals are to focus on stroke technique. Athletes must be able to swim one length of the pool in freestyle and backstroke. Classes meet September through May, twice a week for 30 minutes for 6 week sessions. Contact the Office for more information!

Masters Program

The Issaquah Swim Team Masters is a world class program designed to support and help achieve your training, fitness, and competitive goals. This program, led by Head Coach Kyle Johnson, utilizes the most up-to-date training techniques in order to swim more efficient and safely. These techniques have been proven by multiple Olympic Medalists and World Record Holders! Classes meet 3 times a week for 1 1/2 hours.
