Laura began her competitive swimming in Santa Barbara, CA. Her family moved to Willmar, MN and Laura joined the high school team. At 17, she taught lessons and lifeguarded, discovering her passion to teach/coach others. Laura has experience coaching Jr. High and Sr. High girls, Jr. High boys and 2 different summer league teams. She also officiated for the boys’ high school team in MN. After a break to raise her two children, Kate and Benjamin, Laura has re-entered coaching with the Edgebrook Swim and Tennis summer team for the past 3 years. Laura joined IST in 2002 and loves the opportunity to work with the novice swimmers on the team.
