Congratulations PNS Championship Team! |

Congratulations to our team on our fourth place finish in
the team standings at the PNS Short Course Championships! Our team placing is the highest finish for
IST at this championship meet in the last 7 years. These fantastic results are a direct result of
the vision and the commitment to our tradition of excellence by IST’ coaching
staff, board of directors, athletes and parents.
In a nutshell, IST broke 5 individual team records, 2 relay
team records and had two girls; Katie Kinnear (12) and Andie Taylor (15) earn High Point honors for
their age group. We had numerous
athletes stepping on the podium each night to receive medals (see “Training
Group blogs” for highlights). Most impressive, however, was the overall
performances of our relays! It was a goal
of our coaching staff to make significant improvements in our performances and
placing in relays. Paramount to this success was the willingness
of team members, who were not entered in individual events, making the
commitment to participate for the good of the Issaquah Swim Team. This type of commitment is truly reflective
of a program that builds champions through tradition, innovation and
accountability.
Nice going Sockeyes!
