WELCOME TO
ISSAQUAH SWIM TEAM
“We build champions in the pool and champions in life”
The Issaquah Swim Team serves the greater Eastside of King County, Washington, with a unique combination of our tradition of excellence and our commitment to state-of-the-art innovation. IST is uncompromising in its dedication to quality in the training of our athletes and in service to our membership.
IST earns its success by adhering to the following principles:
Culture
We seek to create a vibrant racing culture for all of our athletes, from our Age Group to our National swimmers. Win or lose, our program fosters a respect for our teammates, for our competitors, and for ourselves. We build champions in the pool and champions in life.
Coaching
IST coaches are the cornerstone of our swim training program. They are professional, loyal, enthusiastic, creative and committed to our vision. In turn, IST seeks to offer its coaches financial security, continuing educational opportunities, and health and retirement benefits.
Parents
IST recognizes the invaluable support of our swim team parents. We seek to enrich that support through continuing education in the form of seminars, articles, and clinical demonstrations. This continuing education builds a more deeply committed volunteer base and a community dedicated to the long-term development of our athletes.
Governance
Our Board of Directors governs in a fair, open and communicative process. We are dedicated to the principles of sound business: fiscally responsible, member responsive and unafraid to grow and adapt to the needs of our athletes and our community.
Long-Term Perspective
Most importantly, the Issaquah Swim Team is committed to controlling its own water. We seek to build and maintain an aquatics training facility in the greater Issaquah area. This facility will include appropriate lane capacity, dry land and weight training areas, and office space. It is to this endeavor that the Issaquah Swim Team commits the hopes, the energy, and the resources of its incomparable community.
