Calling High School Girls we have a NEW HS Training Group!
For the 2007-2008 season, IST Head Coach Kyle Johnson will start a new training group for HS-aged athletes that will help develop fitness and racing skills while providing flexibility of a seasonal (8 week session) approach. This group will focus on the special needs of high school/summer league swimming as well as provide opportunities for athletes of other disciplines to pursue swimming without the annual commitment. Participants will experience diverse athletic training with specially designed land exercises, stroke technique, racing strategy and fitness. This program is anticipated to be offered as an afternoon-only program. Race Club will meet in 5 sessions throughout the year: 11/5-12/29; 12/31-2/16; 2/18-4/12; 4/14-6/7; and 6/9-8/2. Steelhead Program- Registration for Session 2 Starting Now!
IST's Steelhead program is a pre-competetive group who's goals are to focus on stroke technique. Athletes must be able to swim one length of the pool in freestyle and backstroke. Classes meet twice a week for 30 minutes for 6 week sessions. Contact the Office for more information!

Masters Program
The Issaquah Swim Team Masters is a world class program designed to support and help achieve your training, fitness, and competitive goals. This program, led by Head Coach Kyle Johnson, utilizes the most up-to-date training techniques in order to swim more efficient and safely. These techniques have been proven by multiple Olympic Medalists and World Record Holders! Classes meet 3 times a week for 1 1/2 hours.
Issaquah Swim Team Nationally Recognized for Excellence
The Issaquah Swim Team, led by Head Coach Kyle Johnson, was recently awarded the 2007 Silver Medal Club status by USA Swimming in the Club Excellence Program. This is the second year in a row that the IST Sockeyes, a local competitive swimming team committed to athletic and personal excellence, have received the silver from USA Swimming, the National Governing Body for amateur competitive swimming in the United States. The Excellence in Club Swimming Program embraces leadership and excellence in up to 200 of USA Swimming’s top member clubs.
Head Coach Kyle Johnson Wins 2007 ASCA Award!
Congratulations to IST Head Coach Kyle Johnson for receiving the Award of Excellence 2007 from the American Swimming Coaches Association. The ASCA is the preeminent body for the education and certification of swim coaches in the United States. The Award of Excellence has been offered since the 1970's. We at IST are very proud to have Coach Kyle recognized as one of the nation's finest coaches.
Kate Dwelley is no stranger to putting in a hard days work. Having grown up helping on her familys fruit and vegetable farm in California, Dwelley knows what it takes to be successful whether its growing crops, selling green beans and watermelon at the family fruit stand, or putting in many hours of practice in the pool.
